Stevie was discharged from the hospital yesterday at 11am. She is doing great so far. She thinks night is day, and day is night. Steve and I aren't getting much sleep.
Today she had her first pediatrician appointment with Dr. Mobley. He said she looks great for being a preemie. We'll go back in 2 weeks for a weight check, and then take her back 2 months later for her 4 month shots.
I am going to load a slide show hopefully of pictures from our departure yesterday.

- This blog was intended to chronicle Stevie Dee's journey while in the NICU and to honor our son Christopher who passed away a day after they were born. Stevie Dee Hickman & Christopher David Hickman were born on May 11, 2008 at 29 weeks 3 days. Stevie was born at 1:42pm (3 lbs 1 oz 16"), and Christopher followed at 1:43pm (3 lbs 2 oz 16"). Christopher went home to be the Lord at 9:50am on May 12th. After 8.5 weeks in the NICU Stevie Dee came home on July 9, 2008. She is having a blast with her mom and dad, and dog Wheezer.

I'm so happy for you guys! It seems surreal doesn't it. Get used to the no sleep thing, you just have to remember the nights that you've had good rest and live on that for a while!! I'm still praying for y'all and praising God that this day has finally come. May you now enjoy parenting with assurance and peace that God is in control and watching over that precious little one!

Welcome Home Stevie! Erin and Steve I am so happy for you guys, you finally have your baby girl home where she belongs :) Cherish EACH minute, it goes so fast! Before you know it she will be sleeping through the night, so just know that the sleepless nights will pass!
